‘She’s fine, tell them she’s fine’ mother says of machete – attack daughter – Oak Bay homeowners are from Egypt

“Tell them she’s fine. She’s fine,” said Neehal Alireza, owner of the large glass house overlooking Willows Beach.

Robert Butler, who looks after the house when the Alirezas are away, said the family is from Egypt, lives in Victoria and travels to Spain a lot.

“They are really nice people,” said Butler. “It wasn’t until I saw the picture of the house in the Times Colonist that I realized who it was. I felt terrible, obviously.”
